'The Doolittle Raiders' in April 1942 just four months after Pearl Harbor Jimmy Doolittle lead a small force of B-25’s of the pitching deck of the Carrier Hornet. The sixteen-plane mission crewed entirely by volunteers bombed Japan then had to fly on to China bailing out once out of fuel.
The successful raid unexpected and virtually unopposed was a huge wake up call for Japan, the sleeping giant was awakening, and also a huge morale booster for the US following Pearl Harbor. The print is signed by fourteen of the Doolittle raiders.
