In the Solomons, after fighting in an interception of Japanese fighters and bombers a badly damaged Grumman F4F Wildcat limps along. Suffering heavy gunfire damage including loss of its radio and engine oil leaks. With the vast expanse of Ocean ditching is not an option and will probably result in death.

Struggling over the ocean in the Solomon’s desperately heading for base, the Wildcat is accompanied by comrades in Wildcats. Alongside are newly arrived Corsair F4U of the Marine Corps, also lending their support. The print is signed by some of the most famous Pacific War Aces, Bob Galer, Jim Swett, Ken Walsh and two Medal of Honor winners Jeff De Blanc and Joe Foss.
