Robert Taylor did very few Focke-Wulf 190 prints, Gathering Storm is one of the few. The print shows FW190's of JG-2 based in France climbing to intercept incoming B-17 inbound to attack the Submarine pens at Lorient.

The FW 190 was a superb fighter aircraft that gave the RAF a shock on its introduction in 1941. At the time the RAF had nothing comparable in performance until the Mk1X Spitfire in late 1942.

The remarqued print is originally signed by four famous Focke-Wulf 190 Aces, Heinz Lang, Fritz Losigkeit, Gunther Schack and Hugo Broch. These four Aces flew between them nearly 2,500 combat missions, scoring 393 aerial victories.
