The Warrior & The Wolfpack depicts an epic encounter between Gunther Rall and Hub Zemke's Wolfpack. 0n May 12th 1944 the 56th Fighter Group with Zemke leading "A" Group and Gabby Gabreski leading "B" Group were flying bomber escort duties. On that day newly arrived back from the Eastern Front, Gunther Rall with JG-11 was flying cover in Me109's for FW190's who would attack the bomber streams.

Rall was initially successful taking out both of Zemkes wingmen forcing Zemke to head for home at low altitude. Success was short lived as Rall, moving to lower altitude found himself with four P47 on his tail. Taking heavy punishment the Me109 was put into a steep climb and inverted, so Rall now with a severed thumb could bail out as the wings started to Buckle.

The print is signed by Gunther Rall and three famous P47 Aces, Francis "Gabby" Gabreski, Robert "Shorty" Rankin, Walker "Bud" Mahurin and Cleon Thomton who was Rankin's wingman on May 12th 1944.
