Inbound to Target portrays 'Mick' Martins Lancaster AJ-P with John Hopgood's Lancaster in the background.  The planes are following a canal at low level enroute to the Mohne Dam. They flew at very low level to avoid detection; the pilots were chosen partly for their low-level flying skills. This was essential over the dam where the Lancaster had to be held level at 60 feet to successfully drop the bouncing bomb.

The Publishers Proof Edition is signed by Ray Grayston, George Johnson, Ken Lucas, Grant McDonald, Les Munro and Fred Sutherland. Included in the matting are the additional signatures of 'Mick' Martin, Ken Brown, Dave Rogers, Dave Shannon, Edward Johnson and Bill Townsend. A total of 12 pilots and crew from 617 squadron who participated in "Operation Chastise"
