The Battle of Britain commenced in July 1940, during the next two and a half months the RAF and Luftwaffe fought what was to become the greatest aerial conflict in history. The conflict was marked by intense and sustained fighting often to the point of exhaustion.

"Summer Victory" portrays Spitfires of Churchills famous few returning from combat in high Summer. Below in a wheat field is a downed Me109, one of the many victories for the RAF, while the Luftwaffe pilot contemplates his misfortune.

The print is signed by four famous RAF pilots aces from the Battle of Britain, Alan Deere, Bob Doe, Hugh (Cocky) Dundas and Brian Kingcome
