"Rising Sun" by Robert Taylor feature Saburo Sakai in his Zero Fighter. This legendary pilot was a descendant of the  Samurai warrior class. On the infamous December 8th 1941 Sakai participated in the raid on Clark Field. In August 1942 he was badly wounded over Guadalcanal struggling back to base with bad head wounds and loosing an eye.

As the war became desperate for Japan Saburo was pushed back into service and even with one eye he scored more victoried. He is credited with at least 64 confirmed aerial victories.

The print comes with an original letter signed by Saburo Sakai to Captain Robert Meyer USAAF after they met in 1991.
