Highly sought-after, Low Holding over San Jacinto which portrays George Bush in 1944 then a Lieutenant flying his TBM Avenger with Torpedo Squadron 51. The Squadron was assigned to the light Aircraft Carrier "San Jacinto" CVL 30. The TBM's are "Low Holding" awaiting the signal to approach and land on the carrier deck.
George Bush flew from May 1944 until the victory over Japan, logging over 1,220 flying hours, 126 carrier landings and 58 combat missions. George Bush was awarded three Air Medals including the Navy's Distinguished Flying Cross for Bravery.
The print was specially remarqued with a double remarque of George Bush's TBM Avenger. Also included is a 10" by 8" photograph of George Bush signing the Low Holding prints which was later used on the COA.
