Sunday 15th September 1940 the Luftwaffe made its final push to gain air superiority during the Battle of Britain. Hurricanes of 257 squadron attack massed formations of Heinkel 111 and escorting Me109's.

The ability to take huge amounts of punishment made the Hurricane a dangerous adversary as it tore into attack. The Hurricane was credited with 80% of Luftwaffe planes shot down during the Battle of Britain. By the end of the day the Luftwaffe had sustained very heavy and unforeseen losses and the Battle of Britain had been won.

The print is signed by four famous Battle of Britain Hurricane pilots, Frank Carey, Pete Townsend, Geoff Page and Pete Brothers.
