JG 52 fought throughout the war, much of it on the Eastern Front. Deploying Bf109's during the entire war it produced a string of top Aces including Hartmann, Barkhorn, Rall, Batz, Graf and Lipfert. 

The print shows Gerhard Barkhorn commander of II./JG52, in a Bf109 leading his Stab as they climb out from their base in Eastern Europe, during November 1943.  In November 1943 Barkhorn achieved 200 victories which proved to be a provisional landmark in his combat career. The print is signed by Hugo Broch and Willi Reschke.
