Eagle Day 13th August 1940 code named Adlertag was the commencement of the Luftwaffe push to defeat the RAF in the Battle of Britain, the greatest air battle in history. Adlertag - Eagle Day saw 12 hours of almost continues fighting.
The print shows two Me 109’s about to flip over into the attack following their lead pair diving on Spitfires, which themselves are attacking massed formations of He111 bombers.
The print is signed by four of the Luftwaffe greatest fighter leaders Gunter Rall, Adolf Galland, Dieter Hrabak and Walter Krupinski
