A three-print series by Robert Taylor of Dawn Eagles Rising, Height and Sun and Opening Sky.

Dawn Eagles Rising, depicts Me109’s of 1/JG52 shortly after taking off from their base near Calais. The 109’s with their yellows Battle of Britain noses are heading out across the Channel during the Battle of Britain in September 1940. This matted AP print is a tribute to the Luftwaffe pilots who flew throughout WW II with no respite has the signatures of 33 Luftwaffe pilots with an astonishing 2,741 victories between them.

Height and Son, illustrates RAF Hurricanes during the Battle of Britain climbing as fast as they can to gain altitude. Due to the short distance across the Channel, there was little time once a raid appeared on Radar to gain the advantage of height. In the adage of fighter pilots:

“If you had height, you controlled the battle. If you came out of the sun, the enemy could not see you. If you held your fire until you were very close, you seldom missed”

The matted AP print has the signatures of 40 Battle of Britain Aircrew

Opening Sky, shows P-51 Mustangs of the 78th Fighter Group crossing the coast of Holland far below on their way back to Duxford.  The Fighter Group has completed another sweep east of the Rhine crossing during the final months of the War in the Spring of 1945. The matted AP proof print has the signatures of thirty-two USAAF including many of the greatest aces.

A three-print set by Robert Taylor of Dawn Eagles Rising, Height and Sun and Opening Skies all are matted Artist Proofs with matching numbers, and all are number one.
