After the Battle, RAF 611 Squadron pilots return to base in their Mk1X Spitfire’s after a dogfight with Fw190's over France. Speeding home to Kenley over the Southern England countryside. The Mk1X Spitfire is considered to be the greatest of all Spitfire marks. The Mk1X was introduced to counter the dominance of the recently introduced Luftwaffe Fw190 which quickly gained the nickname "Butcher Bird"

The print is signed by six famous Battle of Britain Spitfire pilots, Johnnie Johnson, Neville Duke, Paddy Barthropp, Harbourne Stephens, Sir Archie Winskill and Alan Wright. Great remarque of a Spitfire downing an Me109.
