Towards The Home Fires by Robert Taylor Double Remarque
Towards The Home Fires by Robert Taylor Double Remarque
Winter in the UK during the final year of the War was unforgiving with snow on the ground in Southern England. The War was coming to an end, but Germany fought on. In a tribute to Robin Olds the print illustrates Robin leading a flight of Mustangs in his P-51K "Scat VI"
Below is the Estuary town of Malden in Essex, with its medieval wharfs and quayside. Robin Olds had shot down three Luftwaffe planes that day South of Berlin, on his way to triple Ace with seventeen air victories.
The Mustang Pilots Edition Double Remarque is signed by eight Mustang pilots, Robin Olds, Steve Pisanos, Bud Anderson, David Born, Frank Gailer, Joe Peterburs, Walter Drake and James Frolking.
