Known by the Luftwaffe as the "Fork Tailed Devil" the P-38 saw combat in all theaters of the war, Europe, Pacific and Africa. Prior to the introduction of the P-51 Mustang the Lightening which had the range escorted B-17's to Germany, significantly reducing losses. 

Its exceptional range of 1100 miles was utilized in the Pacific when P-38 pilots intercepted and shot down Admiral Yamamoto's plane over 550 miles from their base.

The print is signed by four great P-38 Lightening pilots, Rex Barber, Gerald Brown, John Mitchell and Jay Robbins.
