"The Height of the Battle" Luftwaffe blitzed London on the night of September 10th leaving the City burning. The following day the RAF plotted the Luftwaffe build up in the Pas de Calais for a day light raid, massed Heinkel bombers escorted by over 200 fighters headed for London.  As the bombers approached the London Dockland 60 Spitfires and Hurricanes attacked them.

Leading No74 "Tiger" Squadron, Sailor Milan the outstanding RAF Battle of Britain fighter pilot had orders to ignore the Luftwaffe fighters and attack the bombers. The print shows Sailor Melan and Harbourne Stephen starting a diving attack on Luftwaffe Heinkel bombers.

The RAF Edition is signed by C.S. Bamberger, G.H. Bennions, H.M. Stephen, G.C. Unwin and is accompanied by a companion print “Hurricane Attack” signed by J.M. Bentley Beard, Sir John Grady and T.F. Neil. The Publishers Proof also includes "Gallant Gladiator"

The RCAF Edition is signed by C.S. Bamberger, H.A. Sprague, H.M. Stephen, G.C. Unwin accompanied by a companion print “Maple Leaf Scramble” signed by Hartland Molson, G. O’Brian and B.D. Russel. The Publishers Proof also includes "Gallant Gladiator"
