Dawn Operations by Robert Taylor
Dawn Operations by Robert Taylor
Dawn Operations depicts a quiet moment as dawn breaks over the Japanese base at the island of Shortland off the tip of Bourganville in late 1942. A Mitsubishi F1M2 (Pete) float plane ready for a recon mission, overhead a pair of A6M Zeroes from a nearby Carrier head out on patrol. Lying off in the harbor a pair of Cruisers prepare to sail.
The print is signed by three Japanese pilots who flew F1M2 (Pete) and Carrier based A6M Zeros during the Pacific War, Sadaaki Ohnishi, Toyomi Toyoshima and Keiyu Takakuwa. The pilots have signed in Japanese Kanji and Western style.
The Publishers Proof edition comes with a pencil companion print Naval Maneuvers featuring a Nakajima E8N Type 95 reconnaissance float plane
