Channel Sweep illustrates an offensive patrol over the English Channel by a section of Spitfire Mk. Vb from 452 squadron, lead by Brendan "Paddy" Finucane. In 1941 as it built strength and experience RAF Fighter Command increasingly took the battle to the Luftwaffe with frequent patrols known as "Circuses" over the Channel and into Nothern France. 

In July 1942, Paddy Finucane was hit by ground fire over France he attempted to make in back to England but vanished in the English Channel. At that time he had scored an incredible 28 victories.

The Collector's edition main print comes with a companion print "On Final into Kenley" depicting Paddy Finucane's Spitfire.
