Hard Way Home by Robert Taylor, Bomber Command Tribute with Original Drawing

In stock

Hard Way Home shows a Halifax bomber of 405 Squadron RCAF struggling home after a night bombing mission. They are coming home the hard way with one engine already out and another starting to smoke. They would be easy prey for the Luftwaffe but have joined up with Hurricanes from 253 Squadron out on patrol.

They finally have protection but must still nurse the badly damaged Halifax home. The print has been signed by 21, Hurricane pilots, Halifax pilots and aircrew. The matted original drawing has been signed by an additional 13 bomber command aircrew.

In the matting are the signatures of four Bomber Command VC's, Bill Reid, Norman Jackson, Leonard Cheshire and Rod Learoyd together with Air-Vice Marshal Don Bennet.
