The Prinz Eugen was with Bismarck during the sinking of the Hoog. Later she took part in the Channel Dash escorting the battleships Scharnhorst and Gneisenau through the Channel.

The print depicts Prinz Eugen firing broadsides into Russian positions on land in the Baltic during 1945 attempting to slow the Russian steamroller to Berlin.
