During the Battle of Britain, a Hurricane had been involved in a midair collision with a Heinkel III. Suffering serious damage to the tail and a wing the Hurricanes pilot is fighting to stay airborne.

The flight leader Peter Townsend spotting the damaged plane, easy pickings for a 109. Townsend giving encouragement escorted the plane back to their base in Debden.
