At the very young age of 29, Adolf Galland was given command of the Luftwaffe fighter wing. As commander one of his first missions was to plan and provide fighter cover for the pride of the German Navy moving from Brest in France to the relative safety of the Elbe Estuary in an operation coded Operation Cerberrus.

Under Gallands air cover the entire fleet made it through one of the tightest and heavily defended straits in the world without loss, in what became known as "The Channel Dash"

The print is signed by Adolf Galland, Gerhard Schopfel, Adolf Glunz and Gerd-Dietrich Schneider.
