"Tactical Support" by Richard Taylor shows P-38 Lightening's flying over Pegasus Bridge shortly after D-Day. In a tactical support role the Lightening's will strafe and bomb the German lines, destroying communications, armor and other ground targets.
Days earlier Pegasus bridge was the first target secured on D-Day, capturing the vital bridge across the Caen canal. The invasion of France had started and from this point on for Germany it was the beginning of the end.
The print is signed by three P-38 pilots who flew tactical support missions in Normandy and three soldiers who landed behind German lines early on D-Day.
The print has a great double sized remarque of a P-38 Lightening.
