"Night Crossing" portrays a Dornier 217 of KG-2 racing home at very low level over Southern England after attacking a target at night. Following the Battle of Britain the Luftwaffe switched to night attacks on England.
A station is temporarily lit at night to accommodate the loading of troops. Suddenly out of the night sky a Dornier 217 screams overhead as it runs for home. Taking the most direct route at low altitude to evade RAF night fighters.
The print is signed by Josef Steudel, Kart Schulze and Albert Hanslik all of whom flew Luftwaffe bomber missions in WWII. The remarque is of a Dornier 217.
