After the Battle shows RAF 611 Squadron pilots return to base in their Mk1X Spitfire’s after a dogfight with Fw190's over France. Speeding home to Kenley over the Southern England countryside.

The Mk1X is considered to be the greatest of all Spitfire marks. The Mk1X was introduced to counter the dominance of the recently introduced Luftwaffe Fw190 "Butcher Bird"

The print is signed by six famous Battle of Britain Spitfire pilots, Johnnie Johnson, Neville Duke, Paddy Barthropp, Harbourne Stephens, Sir Archie Winskill and Alan Wright. The print has a very nice printed remarque in the lower left border

The Portfolio Edition has two signed companion prints “Spitfire Scramble” showing 610 Squadron Spitfires scrambling. This print is signed by additional three Battle of Britain pilots, Alan Deere, Desmond Sheen and Dennis David.

The second companion print “Fighter Sweep” depicts a USAAF Spitfire over the Bay of Naples Italy it is signed by three U.S.A.A.F. fighter pilots who flew Spitfires, Charles Fischette, John Paulk and J.D. Collinsworth.
